General Stem Cell Treatment Questions

MD Stem Cells utilizes autologous bone-marrow–derived stem cells (BMSCs). "Autologous" means the cells are collected from your own body, which maximizes biological compatibility and eliminates the risk of tissue rejection or the ethical concerns associated with donor-derived cells.

The procedures offered through SCOTS 2 and NEST are investigational clinical studies, not FDA-approved standard-of-care treatments. However, we strictly follow FDA-compliant guidelines for the "minimal manipulation" of cellular tissue, and all processing is done using FDA-cleared equipment.

Ideal candidates are those with a documented diagnosis of a degenerative eye or neurologic disease where traditional therapies have been limited. Candidates must be in stable enough health to undergo a minimally invasive procedure under conscious sedation. A formal review of your medical records (MRI, OCT, etc.) is required to determine final eligibility.
